The surfaces of our surroundings retain the marks of time, permanently etched with traces of past events. These traces, or patinas, are visual accumulations of repeated behavior and use. “Finish Your Plate” is a series of ceramic plates that introduce ‘patinas' into the conception of the everyday object. Incorporating markings from a previously consumed meal into the slip casting process, each plate is created with its own unique finished finish.

These plates were designed as part of a thematic collection under the Whatnot Studio at SAIC. This collection was exhibited at ICFF, Wanted Design 2022.
