Travertine Glazes

These glazes were produced as part of the research and material exploration phase of the “Farnsworth in Fragments” series. The reclaimed travertine tiles were fired in a kiln, producing calcium carbonate, a common base material used in ceramic glazes. The calcium carbonate, containing other organic elements from the travertine, created a range of unexpected glazes.
